A guy I used to know, who came from Southern California, used to say

Mexicans are like snow...anyone who didn't grow up with them always thinks they're cool...

    That's fucking stupid. "Snow" is a non-countable noun.

    Yeah, who's stupid?
    The Eskimos have 56 different words for snow, and 23 of them are countable.

    Also the Chinese use the same word for "crisis" and "pathetically over-quoted linguistic fallacy".
